"Sa Dilim" when translated in english is "In Darkness". A black & white photoblog with occasional sepia.
I am a 43-year old husband and father. I was an avid computer gamer and DOF, F-stops and the like were foreign to me until my wife introduced me to photography.
I began shooting during the latter part of March 2010 and quickly became addicted to it. I started this blog to share my journey and to learn along the way.
Special thanks to my wife Eng who encouraged me and to all my friends in Blogosphere who shared their knowledge and taught me to further this craft.

I'm torn between this version and the color one. I love them both. Flowers don't always translate well to B&W, but this one does.
I prefer this one, as if it's a paper water lily!
I somehow like this one more than the color even when i am more of a color person!
Very dramatic conversion. I certainly catches my attention.
Love the drama of the b&w. Gorgeous!
Beautiful. Stunning contrast. Wonderful conversion.
I love the conversion, even better than the color. Awesome work.
Lovely conversion... the BW has much more drama and mystery. :)
love the B&W version, show the shadows and depth...gorgeous...
this is exquisite.
the lighting is perfection!!
Like Mojo, I am torn. Both have a surreal glow, even though it seems different in each version.
This looks so dreamy, great shot!
They are both stunning, of course, I did´nt expect something else! *LOL*
I like this monochrome rendition much better than the colour one. It has a good bit more character this way.
Ohhhhh! I have no words. So lovely.
oh, so beautiful. i love the black and white better, though the soft focus in the yellow one is a beauty too, but this one, somehow the glow makes me lost for words.
I like the contrast on this.
I love the light on this...the white just glows against the black background...and the color is something special too. I really like them both, but, I am drawn to the black and white because flowers so rarely lend themselves well without color. This is, without a doubt, a visual treat!
Beautiful! The light is just stunning.

Ok, I really like it in color, but this is my favorite... awesome work!!!
Beautifully done in monochrome.
Beautiful lily and such a great subject for black and white.
Simple and really beautiful!
The delicate colour version is lovely, but (unusually for me where flowers are concerned) I actually prefer the black and white. The shapes are beautiful, and it seems lit from within.
Magnificent and yes the delicate flower is just so awesome. Mine is at the Exposed page.
The glow is striking Dave. The light in the darkness, the delicate shapes of the water lily -- marvelous image.
I totally agree with John - the light in the darkness, delicate shapes - gorgeous image!
It practically glows, Dave! :)
I agree with the previous comment - it really does glow!
This is beautiful. So pure and innocent looking.
If anything, the B&W version is 'better' than the colour version. The very dark background is inspired. Bravo!
